Geo

Geo walked into the kitchen and set down the bag of vegetables that Gordon had left for him.  He looked in the refrigerator.  It was stocked with cheeses, fruits, meats and drinks—sodas and beer—and he noticed that two of the beers had already been taken.  A tightness gathered in Geo’s stomach, a dizzy awareness. Who else would be here?  Maybe Gordon.... But.  He remembered himself, being with Shiara and Pigmet and on a strange planet.  And he also remembered himself in another past.  He could not tell which memories came before the others, for both seemed to have just happened! Could a person have two pasts at the same time?

He pulled the dustcover off the dining room table and sat down.  I must be crazy, he thought to himself.  Or maybe this happens to everyone, and they just don’t admit it. I was on a strange planet, with a beautiful goddess, and a playful talking piglet.  I seemed to know that Piglet very well, too.

But I also am a psychologist!  I was doing my doctorate internship at St. John’s Psychiatric Hospital…..

He thought back to the hospital.  The smoky smell of the air came into his mind.  The faces of his colleagues and patients.  This was real. If he had to pick one past to be real, it would be that one, only because it was more believeable.  But how did he get here?  And how could he get back?
