[Nov, 2003; Jan, 2004] - In Lowell, Mass., it is the Tsongas arena, home of the Northeastern AA hockey league Lowell Lock Monsters, and the girls in their halters and the boys in their stocking caps are pushing forward to the ice echo chordlets of the ... the White Stripes! Their new Elephant CD charting humongously Quintessential Friday night.
... Somewhere yet it’s 23rd St, and the kid’s just got the 99 cents for a macdonalds hamburger... this is a sad Friday crux of fact ... for brushetta bread is what his girl friend eats.... she, a fashion plate in the city... she, with DNA ... and her boss who is always refinancing his home on the phone ... asks her to the museum of sex and she goes ... what's a young man to do? uggh, the boss - DNA she, she's smart yeah makes a phone call in a tunnel ....that’s when jack white, elephant, kicks in ... and its all right. Seven Nation Army charging forward, that’s rocknroll.
Time goes by he moves to Boston gets the invitation... takes the train back ... and it could have been her on the train down there .... which is weird ... she plays with her ear...she’s doing work with the whitehead institute ... phone all the time cell phone ... she puts a spin on everything....There’s No Home for You Here, said jack white..... tremendous chords
And on the train our boy sits across from her mirror .... a wonderful passionate, err cyberworker .... as a woman she brings a lot of big diverse perspective to things ... to the gene pool, and to do the quest for a cure ... but .... biology is beyond the kid .. yet for his college sweetie, its a license to mint money ... he finds a certain headlong quiescence looking into the gaping BMT entrance ... The Hardest Button to Button plays on. Lets talk process she says we’ve gone back and forth so much, she iterates.
If our hero had a laptop he would watch Nosferatu ... “Hurry the sun is setting.”
Twas the patent leather shoes which made him sad .. black, and a cell phone black and a laptop black and ... well it was all black... especially that eyeliner ... and he’s thinking Lets have a Ball and a Biscuit blues. This record is throb heart stuff.
Past lives intersected with present lives somehow.... and it was wicked intense.. a bottle of Romilar was drifting down the gutter ... and she was scratching her back on her train to nowhere... and we all end up on the coolin floor. Which was a number the White Stripes did in Lowell that night. Under a Zamboni haze that saw Son House smiling ... sometimes you have to break down your problems into smaller ones .. as in Little Acorns,
As with previous records of the White Stripes this includes a bit of vaudeville... even a bit of velvet underground style vaudeville ...You search for something clever to say ... she is cute as hell and totally lethal ... Dont go away because I want to keep you in my pocket ... and wise insight dawns sadly... i guess says our boykidman i’m like your boss... but ... one thing ... my journey can only be made with you ..... Says she: True heart does not buy baubles at Bloomies.
It was a done deal, the kid knew, somehow ... muttered .. time to stalk meg! Was that Rene Zelleweger selling t shirts? Sure was a long slow line there.
