Glenwood Springs finishes municipal network
It was a difficult battle, but Glenwood Springs, Colorado residents are
the proud owners of their own last mile municipal broadband network,
paid for by the city's electrical department. The town signed
a contract with Aspenworks Ltd. to act as the ISP for the town's
fiber, and spent much of the fall finalizing
and testing network connections. Despite arguments with resellers
and allegations that the city paid too much, the system has area
residents pleased
as punch.
