i never wrote about this and it's been over a week now since it happened.  i feel like my journal is a great place to put it.  what sucks is that i am absolutely sick and tired of telling the story.  so bear with me. 

the 15th, i stayed late at work to meet my deadline.  left at 6:40, all excited that i'd probably get to use the HOV lane once 7pm hit.  made it!  got to use it for about a mile.  get on elliot and about a mile away from home i am stopped at a light.  i am the first one in lane one (one is the left most, non-turning lane).  light turns green and the two people in the intersection waiting to turn left into my lane clear the intersection and i go.  i get to the end of the intersection and i see a car to the right of me so i go a little faster and it hit me.  not too hard.  i stayed in my own lane (thank god or i'd have hit someone else too) and the first chance i got i got out of the road.  the guy that hit me didn't have the same idea and kept going.  the cops said someone behind me chased after the guy, called the cops, who entered the pursuit and got the guy. 

i feel kinda bad cause if it was the person right behind me, they were going too slow and i had to get around them.  i was cursing them out on the way home.  oops!  if i hadn't been so impatient it would have been them getting hit instead of me.  oh well.  can't change anything now.  oh and i didnt prosecute.  cause i didnt want to take time off of work to testify and all that.  so he got all civil charges instead of criminal.  he got tickets for fleeing the scene, red light running and failing to yield.

so at first dealing with the insurance people was really frustrating, but once the police report was ready, they were very cooperative.  fly went to the bodyshop tuesday and i got my rental car.  my dad said he'd give me money to get fly fixed from when the brakes went out and the dealership decided to dick me around.  so when i get fly back he'll be in better shape than he's been since the first month i got him.  i can't wait!

i just hope that i dont have any trouble once fly is fixed.  i took pics of the damage but it was with a disposable camera and i dont have a scanner.  it really wasnt that bad - all things considered, although when i showed the guy at the body shop, he acted like it really was pretty bad.
