From Doc Searls: Blaser's new trails    Britt Blaser says Asheville is "like Boulder with prettier women" (will that flush RageBoy out?), but finds an even more attractive reason to move (or at least hang out) there: Etherhydrants.   He describes these as "a crotch-high solid-appearing metal post with green lights" that provide Infrared, BeamPost, Ethernet, Bluetooth and WiFi — all in one very hot little spot.   Proving how close we are to the time when Net access will be a service as public as lighted streets and running water.   Bonus link: Britt's Sunday blog, which starts with this quotable line:   All the technical clues point to a transparent society that collectively knows as much about its participants as did the citizens of a 19th century village.   He continues:   The personal means for that transparency is the PFR with geopositioning. From RBT: The New York Times has an interesting article called Master Key Copying Revealed, which reports on the results of research at AT&T. Starting with only a lock and its key, a supply of blank keys, and a file, one can produce a master key that unlocks all locks keyed to that master. Apparently this is news to the security community, although it's been well-known to locksmiths for many years. 1:03:49 PM
