Smelly Mystery Blob Takes Over N.J. Town
This just in:
It smells like rotten eggs at best, decomposing flesh at worst. It looks like the pods from "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."
Well, I guess that's most people's idea of New Jersey anyway. What's unusual is it's not in the industrial rust belt around Sewaren, but down south in the little old town of Tuckerton.
The state Department of Environmental Protection poked at the blob and took samples as part of a half-dozen field tests Tuesday before deciding it's not hazardous.
That's conforting to know. Trust the government. They don't know what it is, but they know it's not hazardous. And just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water. And just before my vacation too.
