Microsoft's Really Hidden Files

I came across this disturbing piece of information via Lockergnome. To quote Meryl at Lockergnome:

Microsoft Internet Explorer has not been clearing your browsing history after you have instructed it to do so, and Microsoft's Outlook Express has not been deleting your e-mail correspondence after you've erased them from your Deleted Items bin. And believe me, that's not even the half of it. When I say these files are hidden well, I really mean it. If you don't have any knowledge of DOS then don't plan on finding these files on your own. I say this because these files/folders won't be displayed in Windows Explorer at all -- only DOS.

My question to Microsoft is why?

Anyway, based on Jake's recommendation, I'm going to give the new Mozilla Firebird 0.6.1 version for Mac OS X a spin and see how it works out. I've been having problems at certain websites with Safari since it got to 1.0 status and have been relying on Camino (formerly Chimera) more and more. We'll see how it goes.

On one last computer related item, I've recently downloaded and started to use NetNewsWire Lite as my RSS reader. As Cheyenne would say, "it rocks my world!" Well, maybe not my world but it does rock. It seems alot faster than AmphetaDesk and I like the cool user interface of it. If it passes the test over the next couple of weeks I'll download the full-featured shareware version.
