Good Day Bad Day

This morning I walked out the door and the air was so crisp and clean and the sky cloudless and blue. All I could think of was how great it would be to skip work, drive down to the ocean and just walk the boards for the day, watching the waves roll in to the shore. Stupid me, duty called and I chose to go to work instead. I spent the whole day just going through the motions and looking out my office window every chance I could. I felt just like a caged animal. All that I could think of was how I had nothing particularly pressing to get done today and how stupid I was to waste a day like this that I would never get back again. I feel like such a dumbass.

Spring Fever or Cabin Fever?

This is the kind of day that just drives me nuts. The weather is beautiful out and, combined with the post-trial letdown, I feel the tug of nature calling me to get the hell out of the damn office and tramp around outdoors. I'm literally climbing the walls here as I write this (at 3pm). This is how the polar bears at the zoo must feel. You know the ones; they just walk back and forth from one end of their cage to the other, over and over again.

It's just damn inhuman to be sitting here cooped up on a day like this.
