A guy discovers that a road contractor has illegally parked his heavy equipment on his property while repaving a highway. Two years later a court decides the guy owes the contractor $35,000. When I was in law school we had a real property professor who always used to ask at the end of discussing a case, IS IT FAIR? IS IT JUST? One day our class even had T-shirts made up that said this and we all wore it one day. A large percentage of my classmates thought that the question was not really a relevant one. Today most of my "colleagues" think it has nothing to do with the practice of law. I still think it does. It will probably land me in a heap of trouble. Discuss.
