Just in case you thought development on NewtSync had totally stalled:

Not totally stalled, anyway. There's just a lot of work to do. There's two main things that are happening. First of all, NewtSync is becoming an AppleScript Studio application. That is, while the core application and Newton communication is written in C, the plug-ins will be written in AppleScript. Why? I'm hoping this will make it easier for third parties to participate in the development process (since I've open-sourced the product and am no longer taking registrations).

As for the Newton app, I'm changing things a bit there. While before you entered an IP address into your Newton and connected to your Mac, I'm switching it so the Mac acts as the TCP "server" and the Mac connects to it. This is being done because it eliminates complications due to firewalls on the Mac.

From MacCentral: Aspyr offers SimCity 4 Landmarks add-on. Aspyr Media Inc. on Wednesday offered SimCity 4 users a free add-on to help them get more out of their copies of the popular city-building strategy game. SimCity 4 Landmarks is available for download from Macgamefiles.com, ExtremeSims and MacUpdate. Can't wait to see how the killer robots destroy these new add-ons. [MacCentral]

Recently a close friend of mine (well, as close as I let friends get lately) started a weblog. It's been fun to watch him make 3 or 4 postings a day. I've made a highly scientific graph (you can tell by the lack of any scale) detailing people's interest in their personal blogs as time goes by:

But I'm determined to break the cycle. And, perhaps, to post things of a slightly more personal nature. Especially since I'm spending far less time doing things I can't talk about publicly. ;-)

First personal deep thought: I'm currently drinking the worst-tasting mocha I've ever had. But while it tastes like dirt with a light sweet frothing of pigeon crap, it's warm and contains caffeine. So there, I've complained, turned it into something humorous and positive, and gone on with my day. And the only bitterness in sight is the brown substance in this paper cup.

I didn't say I killed my wife.
I didn't say I killed my wife.
I didn't say I killed my wife.

Stolen from someone else but his point is accurate: it's nifty how each of the above sentences has a different meaning.
