Cleveland Library expands e-book collection "The Cleveland Public Library will offer a new 1,000-copy e-book collection that will include works as varied as reference books and Michael Crichton thrillers. The format will make popular titles and magazines available for temporary use on a variety of devices, from laptops to hand-held computers. A Valley View e-book company, Overdrive, is building the system and says it is the first that will provide e-books on all major forms of computers." "It's going to give people the content they want to read," Sari Feldman, the library's deputy director, said. Card-carrying members of the Cleveland Public Library system will be able to download the new e-books via the Internet onto a laptop, desktop or tablet computer as well as electronic hand-held devices powered by the Palm or Pocket PC computer systems. The library also will have a kiosk where patrons can download selections while in the library, Feldman said." http://www.cleveland.com/news/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/cuyahoga/1041508595218610.xml 10:17:33 PM |
