Scoble's blog pointed me to Ryan Lowe's article on the possibility that browsing as we know it has reached its zenith where Andrew Wooldridge commented on Laszlo Systems rich-client technology. It is worth a look. It is based on Macromedia Flash which makes it fairly ubiquitous and quite pretty. It reminds me a lot of Konfabulator, but it doesn't require any software download. Jeff has been saying that he thinks Flash is probably the way to go for richer web interfaces, and I think he might be right. Andrew mentions Macromedia's Royale in his comment, as well, but I haven't found much detail on that, yet. I just got my login/password approved to see more Laszlo demos. I look forward to seeing some bigger apps. I like the weather demo on the front page, but I need to see more. comment [] trackback [] 6:17:39 PM |
