My new Thinkpad T30 'Maranello'.

Today I got my laptop IBM T30. I ordered a week ago. I was thinking about this for long time. I just opened the Box, vow, shinny and looks good!. Its very important to me and I was thinking for more than a year.

I am very excited now. So many things running in my mind.

Well! Wish me good luck! I come back again .

I name my thinkpad Maranello...

AOP fans take note - eXtensible C#.

Fellow DM Instructor Pierre Nallet has been working on a compiler project for quite awhile now.  Whenever I would ask him what it was he mumbled something about "adding some stuff to C#" and wouldn't say much more.

Today I got an email that "eXtensible C#" shipped.  Wow! XC# lets you say things like this:

[Requires ("o != null")]
void SomeMethod (object o)
{
  ...
}

I'm too busy making the donuts this week to really sit down with it but it looks like a pretty slick product.  Perhaps the most amazing thing of all is that it's free.  Very nice stuff...

Understanding .NET Permissions.

There's a new article up over at The O'Reilly Network which discusses, in a decent amount of detail, the way .NET permissions are determined by the runtime. IMHO, this is pretty important stuff to understand, especially in today's (more) secure development world. Developers need to start assessing security considerations earlier in the design process. I still see developers coding their products without thinking about security until it actually bites them.
