I was working on a task to read user information from Active directory - such as Logon name, first name, last name, email, phone e.t.c using ADSI in VC++. By using the IAdsUser Interface we get most of the user properties. Its simple. But I could not find a way to get the logon name form the IAdsUser Interface. After hours of research I find out, a way to get logon name
pAdsUser->Get("sAMAccountName", bstrLogonName) you get the Logon name.
I felt this could have been documented well in MSDN, which could have saved many hours for the new users.

Inside the Windows Deveopment Process.
A look at how Microsoft develops and maintains the Windows operating system. Fascinating reading for developers! [sellsbrothers.com: Windows Developer News]
Facinating indeed! When I think about how we run this company on only four developers and the challenges we face with versioning and source control, I can't even begin to imagine what working with 4999 other developers must be like. Of course in a larger company you actually have people whose role it is to manage these things, as opposed to here where I'll kinda define a standard and we all try and follow it. ;)
Anyway, check out the article, definitely a good read. Oh, and if you've never read Show-Stopper!, I suggest checking that out as well. [Drew's Blog]
