Design e2 (The Economics of Being Environmentally Conscious) parts 1-6 will be aired on WETA: August 17, 8:00pm - 11:00pm.  Please check the listings to verify the date and time.

This is a series that explores solutions to the complex social, political, cultural, environmental and economic issues of sustainable architecture.  Actor Brad Pitt narrates. 

8:00 Episode 1 - The Green Apple:

New York is leading the charge to green its industrial skyline with several ground-breaking projects (repeats Mon 8/21, 1:30am).

8:30 Episode 2 - Green for All

 Architect and activist Sergio Palleroni continues his mission to provide architectural and design solutions to regions afflicted with social and humanitarian crises. (repeats Sat 8/26, 12:30 am)

9:00 Episode 3 - Gray to Green

 An exploration of the three R's (reduce, reuse, recycle) spotlights Boston's "Big Dig" and the massive amount of waste that accompanies the $15 billion project. (repeats Sun 8/27, 1:30 am)

9:30 Episode 4 - The Green Machine

 Mayor Richard Daley takes viewers on a tour through Chicago and showcases his mission to make it "the greenest city in America." (repeats Mon 8/28, 1:30 am)

10:00 Episode 5 - China: From Red to Green? 

China's soaring population and rapid industrialization have created a boom in urbanization unprecedented in human history - and green designers are busily at work.

10:30 Episode 6 - Deeper Shade of Green. 

The series ends with a look to the future, focusing on designers Kenneth Yeang, Werner Sobek and William McDonough, who are changing the face of not only architecture, but of environmentalism.
