on the way back i went out to waikele to go to comp usa to pick up a couple of things (my file transfer cable for one). the traffic going out there wasn't bad, but the traffic on the other side of the freeway coming into town was packed! it looked like the entire leeward side of the island was making an exodus into town (to pearlridge and ala moana malls?) anyway, waikele shopping center wasn't very busy, which was a big surprise. even though it was only 9:00am, i expected it to be packed this close to christmas! i even went over to the outlet shops it was so empty. i ended up buying a shirt at the saks outlet that was originally $143, marked down to $59.90 with 70% off! so i ended up with a $143 shirt for $18.72 with tax. i was so excited by this deal that instead of taking the  back road home, i got back on the freeway and got stuck in the traffic for 35 minutes (it should be about a 5 minute drive!).
