I went out to another Stardust Party at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel tonight. They have these things twice a year and I've been to like, 8 out of the last 9 (I was deathly sick for the one 6 months ago). It's free food and drinks plus a chance to win some cash. They gave away about $20,000 tonight but alas, my "lucky" number was never called :( As always though, everybody walked away with a lovely parting gift. This party's gift was a crystal with a landscape of the Stardust property etched into it. There is also a kind of 3D light that came with it that the crystal sits on, and it shines light up into the crystal making rotating colors. The little palm trees turn green and the hotel lights up with it's signature pink and purple colors. Strange but oddly soothing! Past gifts have included; carry on luggage bags (twice), picture frames, a clock, a jewelry box, golf shirts and other stuff I can't remember. Someday I'm going to win some cash! (I did win a $100 chip 3 years ago, but I can still complain :)

I finally broke down and got a new 19" flat panel monitor. I got the top rated (by PC World) Dell 1901FP. The review is right, this is a pretty damn nice screen. Plus it's cheaper on Dell's web site than listed in the review. I really needed (SURE I did!) a new one any way, as I didn't have a spare to hook up to my old Compaq computer. Running the Compaq off of a KVM switch was one of the things causing my cable catastrophe around here.
TypePad is finally available on Monday (from the people who gave moveable type to the blogging world). Even though I have a lot of time invested in learning about Radio, I am going to get a subscription right away and test it out. Sometimes Radio is just too frustrating and complicated to customize. TypePad looks VERY interesting.
