Since I was already looking at search engines today (see post below), I decided to add one to my own Blog. Check it out in the sidebar. This site is now fully searchable going back to the start of the Blog! (At least I think so. I did this on the quick tonight and haven't had time to fully test it out. Oh, well! Enjoy!)

I finally got around to reorganizing my list of Internet favorites today. Reorganizing isn't really the right word though, because as I sat here looking at it I realized that it had grown so big and out of control (too many categories, too many sites uncategorized, too many broken links) that radical surgery was necessary. So I just deleted the whole thing and am starting over. I figure that if I found a site interesting enough to find before, I'll find it again eventually. The one thing that I need to make sure of this time is to put every site into a folder, even if I just call the folder "Don't know where to put this". So anyway, my first new folder is Search Engines (Google isn't the only way to search out there) and I thought I'd list them for here for posterity :) About, All the Web, Alta Vista, Ask Jeeves, Dogpile, Google, Infospace, Overture, Teoma, Vivisimo, Yahoo. All of these are good and represent viable alternatives (and complements) to the Google monopoly. Don't give up Google, but don't be afraid to try another search engine also, to obtain varied results.
