My Sony PDA crashed this weekend(you never think it will happen to you!) I had downloaded a theme for a new program (Z launcher) and when I installed it the screen locked up blank! No amount of soft resets would restore it, so I had to do the dreaded hard reset. I had no backup and had to manually restore all my programs and whatever data I could recover. It took about 4 hours of solid work and the 1st new thing I bought after I was finished was a backup program! In a way it was a good thing, as I now have all the latest versions of my programs installed. There were also a couple of programs that I didn't bother installing again, so that freed up some memory too.

I finally picked up my digital (High Definition) cable box today. The high def stuff looks great, although there is a definite lack of channels at the moment (high def channels that is, there is a crap load of regular, digital channels available, as you can see here). In the meantime, I've come across another gadget that I've ordered and am going to give a try out to. I read this article on USA Today about it, and while the pictures and art work on it look pretty cool (high def!), what ended up selling me on it was that I can also stream my CD collection off my computer. That, plus the fact that it's selling like hotcake's (2 week back order), makes me think that this thing might be a cool little addition to the home theater.
