I just checked out my Amazon.com account to see how many books I bought from them this year. Surprisingly I've only bought 7 books from there this year, it seems like a lot more. I guess it just goes to show that while Amazon is a great on-line store, I still like to go to bookstores and spend time browsing through the stacks, looking for a book that just pops out at me, interesting and begging to be read :) There's nothing like wandering around a Borders Book Store for an hour or so, going from section to section. Most of the brick & mortar book stores have discounts as large as Amazon.com anyway, so besides getting the same discount price you also get the instant satisfaction of taking the book home with you. Of course I also have bought books from a couple of other on-line stores (Barnes & Noble, Powell's Books), but I doubt it was more than one or two at most from them. The best thing about the on-line stores is the huge inventory that they carry. Amazon has books that have been out of print for a while, still easily available.
