MSN Spaces and the new MSN Messenger are out of Beta. Get your space! Get Messenger! I'm anxious to give the new Messenger a try. Supposedly the Video Conversation program is the cat's pajama's!
For making on line list's - Ta-da lists (like the photo programs below, you can create private viewing accounts also). For making desktop notes - ATnotes. Enjoy!
I get a lot of photo's e-mailed to me and sometimes I wonder why. Not why they are getting e-mailed to me, but why people choose e-mail to send/present them. It seems to me that a much more elegant presentation is via an online photo site or blog service or your own website (respecki.net?). I'm using Buzznet on this blog, but something that has caught my eye recently is Flickr. Go to Lifehacker and check out 'photo sharing' in the sidebar. It's a Flickr love fest! In combination with Google and Picassa, there are all kinds of hacks and tagging going on. This is pretty cool: so called 'memory maps', marked up with annotations about places/events in your life. I'm amazed at the amount of maps in the memory map pool, considering that Google maps/satellite just came out! Another cool pool in Flickr voyeurism is the desktop show and tell. All it is, is pictures of peoples desktops, but it has a kind of hypnotic quality to it (or maybe it's just me :) The whole point of this post though, is to try and get people to try another option in lieu of e-mail to get  their photo's viewed. By storing photo's online, where they can be saved , tagged, categorized and viewed at any time, you are presenting your photo's to be seen at any time in a better context than inside an e-mail. Also, almost all photo storage sites have privacy built in, where all you do is e-mail a password to whomever you would like to have access. I know that I'm starting to move all my photo's online. I consider it a third backup to my normal hard drive backup. You wouldn't like to lose all those hard taken photo's in a computer meltdown, would you :(
