I went ahead and finally removed the weather nuggets from the sidebar. There are so many ways to get your weather that they seemed redundant anyway. And besides, I don't think there was a way to get them to work again :)

Well, I bought a Slingbox a couple of weeks ago from CompUSA online (they still don't have it in the stores here, even though it was in the stores in Detroit  at the end of June) and got it last Saturday. I hooked it up and went to download the software online and there was a message to check the Slingbox serial number as some Slingboxes had had problems with a component. Well I went ahead and downloaded anyway and then put the software on my laptop and ..... Viola! it worked like a charm. I was streaming video just as Sling advertises. So I went back to my desktop and switched it off and then tried to switch it back on and ..... Nothing! No picture at all and I couldn't get it back no matter what I did. So the next morning I called customer support and they walked me through the steps, including downloading of some new firmware and it worked again! But the picture was terrible. When the guy at Sling looked at the picture he said that my box was definitely bad and they would send out a new one ASAP. Now that's what I call good customer service! They don't require me to send them the bad box first, they just go ahead and send me a new one, along with a prepaid tag to ship the old one back, once I get the new one :) From what I saw before the Sling box died was a darn good picture for streaming video. My whole point in getting one is to get another one to set up in Michigan to get Detroit teams (Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!) (yes, I know the Bears are from Chicago, but it's part of the damn saying!) and other sports that we never get out here in Hawaii. I've seen enough 49er and Seahawk games to choke a moose and need some variation.

On another note, Best Buy opens up their first store in Hawaii this Friday! Thank You Best Buy! I don't know how much more of CompUSA and Circuit City I could stand.
