As I woke up from my nap yesterday, I happened to catch the last few seconds of a cooking show on PBS. They were making what looked like a very tasty cucumber salad. I rewound the show and saw that it was called Everday Cooking. So I went on line and found the recipe (and the video if you care to watch) and lo and behold... the show is a Martha Stewart offshoot. I clicked on over to Martha's site and ended up watching about six videos and printing out a couple of recipes. This one for a Mango-Yogurt drink looks especially sweet and cooling. I'm going to go out tomorrow and pick up some mangos and give it a try! Maybe with a Martha style grilled cheese to go along with it!

I've been giving a tryout to Windows Live Mail (beta). It's a by invitation only trial of Window's new online email program, slated to replace MSN Hotmail later this year. It's an all right program, sort of like an online version of Microsoft Outlook with tabs for Mail, Calendar, Contacts and Today. It's all right as far as it goes (the beta won't open completely in Firefox for one thing), but I don't think that it's going to be a replacement for my ever increasing use of Gmail. Although Outlook is my main email program, I find the slow startup and synch between computers hassle just tiring after a while. Gmail is always there for me (as long as I'm online) and just a quick click away. Gmail is always getting new features (Google chat in Gmail just about a week ago!) and the amount of storage is just fantastic. I'm in line for a new Yahoo! Mail Beta test pretty soon (I haven't gotten the invite yet), but I just don't see myself leaving Gmail unless something spectacular is in it that I haven't heard about.
