Well, I had my one week lasix surgery checkup today and everything looks good. The Optometrist said my eyes were crystal clear, there is absolutely no scarring, and he also took me off of all of my eye drops (anti bacterial and steroidal). All I still need to do is put some wetting drops in my eyes if they ever feel dry. My vision is as good or better than when I wore my contacts and they feel fine also. One strange thing that I'm still getting over is the feeling that I get everynight that I have to go and take my contacts out. Probably just force of habit after 30 years of repetition. Let's see, 30 years x 365 days = 10,950 times! Yikes! Do the math and at one minute per removal it comes out to 7.6 days of my life just REMOVING the contacts. Jeez.... Add in the insertion time and all the other crap....
For those who think that Hawaii is all sunshine and dry sandy beaches, read the paper and check out the weather we've been having. We've had heavy rain and flooding everynight for the past three days (there have been flood warnings on TV everynight also). This in of itself isn't too bad, but you know what happens here when it rains? That's right, the freakin' traffic slows down to a crawl and becomes a nightmare! Serenity now! The freeway extension by my house opens in one more month, and it should ease my road rage by a considerable margin. Now I just have to find a way to keep it under control for another month..... Oh yea, one thing about the heavy rain is that it has created spectacular waterfalls on the windward side of the Koolau Mountains. The picture in the link above is just a taste of what a couple of the small one's look like.
