This won't help with over weight suitcases, but the Space Bag looks like just the ticket to more efficient packing. I just picked some up (after my vacation, sad to say) and gave them a testing out. surprise, surprise! They really work. I'm going to be using them from now on. With the airlines cracking down on the 50 pound per bag weight limit (they need to find revenue wherever they can I guess), I will need to start carrying two smaller bags instead of one big one. Space Bag to the rescue!

It's been pretty hot here in Honolulu since I got back from vacation. Nothing like the heat in Tuscon, Arizona (one of my vacation stops) of course, but hot nevertheless.
