Kreg Yingst's first book, The Magic Show in 52 Linocuts, presents all of his magic linoleum cuts in black and white

Kreg Yingst's first book, The Magic Show in 52 Linocuts, presents all of his magic linoleum cuts in black and white. Divided into two categories, close-up and stage illusions, Yingst reveals the real and imaginary workings of the illusions. The blockprints are unique and original, while still suggesting a relationship to early 20th century magic catalogue illustrations. The book contains an introduction and methodology by the artist, as well as a preface by author/artist Kurt Webb and 2002's Magician of the year, Scott Wells.

A limited edition hardback with cover print is available through the artist's website www.kregyingst.com, or a paperback edition can be purchased through amazon.com, borders.com, barnesandnoble.com, or lulu.com.

"Nipple Book" by Marc Snyder

eMOMA.org proudly presents "Nipple Book " by Marc Snyder, now available on eBay with an opening bid of $145.00 Click here to bid on this auction.

"Nipple Book" is an original painted sculptural wall-hanging by Marc Snyder. It consists of a hardback book nailed to a piece of board and painted in oil, both in heavily painted "fleshy" areas and in more stained/varnished areas on the text. Both nails and archival glues make this a very solid object. It is wired and ready to hang. The back is unpainted and signed in ink "Marc Nipple Book Marc Snyder 1993". This object is 16" wide by 9.5" tall, and about 2" deep at the deepest. This painted sculptural object is extremely sturdy.

The book was an anthropology text of some sort. The text (upside down when the artwork is hung on the wall) refers in fragmented form to various aspects of pre-industrial and agrarian societies.

Both the fleshy areas and the text areas are very rich visually. The nipple fragment of a male torso is heavily painted in oil, with a variety of brush-strokes, rubbed, and stained areas. The text is stained and washed with oil and varnish, accentuating the torn edges of the pages. The overall effect is that of the flesh torn from the book.

"Nipple Book" is one of several book-sculptures I made in the early '90s. I greatly enjoyed contrasting very fleshy, heavy painting with the ultimate abstraction of printed language. The body versus the book as a container and a vessel was of great interest to me. Also, being a lover of books and prints, attacking books in this way was an interesting thing to explore in my studio. The idea of the knowable versus the abstract and unknowable is a consistent theme of these pieces.

This piece had companion pieces which focused on the navel and on teeth. These extreme close-ups allowed for a very non-idealized vision of the body to be contrasted with the ideal world of written language.

Marc Snyder is an artist living in Connecticut. He has a Master of Fine Arts degree in printmaking from Indiana University and a Bachelors degree in studio art from the University of Virginia. He has exhibited his artwork in numerous juried exhibitions and has taught printmaking and drawing at the college level.

"The Sentinal" by Laura Vitali

eMOMA.org proudly presents "The Sentinal" by Laura Vitali, now available on eBay with an opening bid of $75.00 Click here to bid on this auction.

This piece is 20"x16", painted with Professional Grade oil paint which will last for generations. The stretchers are hand-made and very durable. The canvas is also hand-prepared, resulting in subtle variations in the layered gesso substrate. The sides of each painting are painted flat black, allowing them to be tastefully displayed with or without a frame.

This is an original acrylic painting on canvas. There is a wire hanger on the back so the painting will arrive ready to hang!! The piece will be signed on the front and back by the artist.

"My paintings are little expressions of order, comprised of unified and conflicting elements. The scenes are simplified to the point of abstraction so that they may be simultaneously experienced as representational and non-objective works of art. They are inspired by my own early memories of a simple world of light and form." - Laura Vitali, The Artist

eMOMA.org proudly presents "Radio Super No.5" by Christopher Stott, now available on eBay with an opening bid of $199.00 Click here to bid on this auction.

Oil/Canvas - 16" x 20" x 1.5" - 2005
I started this some time ago and left it sitting in a corner... my wife encouraged me to complete this painting and I'm glad she did. The red wagon has such a great color and is an amazing, innocent and nostalgic symbol. This is one of those objects that has changed so much in what seems to be such a short period of time - wagons are gigantic plastic monstrosities now with cup holders and seat belts. The SUVs of a kids world.

"After spending many years experimenting in various mediums, I have finally discovered where my interests truly lie - in painting. My work is inspired by classic domestic still life and scenery, and explores modernization, simple still life and a variety of banal, vernacular objects presented boldly on canvas with loose, expressive brush work. I work along side my wife, who is also a painter, in our in-house studio in a chilly, small, but down-to-earth and inconspicuously beautiful prairie city in Canada." - Christopher Stott, The Artist

It has been sealed with a coat of varnish. This painting was created intuitively with the use of organic shapes and a lot of texture and variations. See more pictures below. Thanks for looking!

Although I have a design background I taught myself how to paint and I have been doing so for about two years now. I am influenced by mythology, folk art, ancient chinese art and all the modern masters and contemporary illustrators. My main objective is to create figures that are distinctly my own with an original concept. "Old Man" by Lori Rase Hall

eMOMA.org proudly presents "Old Man" by Lori Rase Hall, now available on eBay with an opening bid of $100.00 Click here to bid on this auction.

This auction is for a arcylic painting of an Old Man I completed waaaaaaaaay back in 1981. It's been kept covered and safely tucked away in a big portfollio of work that I was keeping to eventually frame. (and you guessed it...I never got around to framing it) It's painted on double thick cold press illustration board and measures 30" x 40" I signed and dated it on the back, Lori Rase 1981. Using a blue/orange complimentary color scheme, this piece vibrates like crazy! If you are the lucky "Big Vibrating Old Man Auction Winner" it will come shipped to you unframed.

"Art has always been a part of my life. Pattern, color, abstract shapes and recognizable images all seem to enter my work. I enjoy playing with opposites; tight repetitive patterns to representational imagery, loose wet-into-wet application to highly rendered geometric shapes. Since the early 1980's my work has been exhibited in galleries throughout California & the Western US and is also in the permanent collection in the E.B. Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento." - Lori Rase Hall, The Artist

Oil Paint on gessoed canvas with sides painted A Large 18"x 24"x 3/4" thick (Canvas Ready to hang frame optional)

BIG CITY FORTUNE. Ah yes, the Big City is full of opportunity. Magic or misery, the path is not always clear. You have to choose or you get chosen, one way, or another you create your own worth as they say. Consider adding me to your eBay seller watch list as more paintings of the colorful sublime are coming.

Colorful dramatic neo expressionist paintings. Teod's work has been coveted and collected for years. Whether he is painting from life or an imagined scenario his works have a deliberate committed feel. Subjects cascade between the playfully pop cartoonish to the stark realism of the human physique. In addition to gallery showings, he is a published illustrator, accomplished 3d sculptor and animator for TV and Film. Teod worked with band TOOL on their first music videos and painted the cover for CD single prisionsex. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honors degree from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.

"Fragments 49 - Mary and Erika" Original Oil of Nude Figures by Jeff Cohen

eMOMA.org proudly presents "Fragments 49 - Mary and Erika" by Jeff Cohen, now available on eBay with an opening bid of $.01 Click here to bid on this auction.

20" x 24" Oil Painting by Jeff Cohen This is the 49th painting in a series I call Fragments. The piece is composed of 40 small paintings on masonite, attached to a wood box. Each fragment was painted as its own, unconnected piece, varying in its color palette and painting style from its neighbors. The models for this piece are Mary and Erika. This painting is the third of several that I have planned featuring these two lovely women. They make a very interesting pair: Mary with her slender, athletic physique, Erika with her rounder, sensuous curves. This composition shows the women from behind. Strong, directional lighting defines every subtle detail of each of their lovely backs. The women's hands are visible in the shadows, clasped affectionately. Just a suggestion of Mary's face is visible in the shadows as well, enough to tell that she is smiling. I really love the way the two figures seem to be emerging from the rich, burnt sienna background here. I kept the color palette limited to warm, earth colors. The masonite tiles that make up the painting are mounted to a wood box and coated with beeswax and dammar resin, which adds a warm luster to the piece. This is the same medium used in encaustic paintings for centuries. Here I use it as a topical treatment to preserve the work and strengthen the richness of the colors.

""I work mostly in oils, and occasionally in acrylics. My subjects vary from cats to people to still life to landscape to whatever weird thing pops into my head. My most recent work explores the combination of unexpected images to create context, and to force the viewer to create context where none is readily apparent. I have sold hundreds of paintings on eBay, and my work is in collections all over the world. I am listed with Art in America. Though I have been represented by numerous galleries, the direct contact with the buyer that I enjoy with eBay makes it my venue of choice." - Jeff Cohen, The Artist

Between the actual painting surface which are often found objects, the imagery and the title I hope to challenge the viewer to unlock each painting's meaning. An invitation to journey inward and ponder their own paths or deeper universal truths. " - Kim Richardson, The Artist
