"Before I went to art school I worked at a factory were we rebuilt locomotive engines. After working there for several years I was laid off. The UAW and General motors had a retraining program that I qualified for. Instead of retraining in a sensible field like computer programming I decided that I would be an artist. I love to draw and paint and one of my teachers at school always encouraged me to use watercolors now I can't imagine not doing a painting a day. The inspiration for my work comes from the work of Winslow Homer, Dong Kingsman and Milford Zornes." - Carlos Durazo - The Artist
