This rate my girlfriend point system may be my best idea ever. It is with absolute pleasure that I make this, my first post with a point rating for Jenn.
I'm not going to go back and post what happened the last two days. Let's just say, points were lost.
Today's score was 91/100.
Here's the breakdown:
1 pt -- for refusing to type what I was asking her to type while we were doing a joint AIM session.
1 pt -- for telling the dog to "stop it" for over fifteen minutes when he was begging to go outside.
by the way... I was cleaning the bathroom at the time.
1 pt -- for saying, "I'm sorry, I'm getting up right now" and then not getting up for another five minutes.
1 pt -- for being argumentative about the point system.
1 pt -- for being late for work.
1 pt -- for having a friend who intentionally spammed me with some Amazon.com thing even though I have no idea who she is.
1 pt -- for not having a t pass and wasting an extra $1 (we already spend $70 a month on passes so it's a good idea not to spend any more than we need to).
1 pt -- for literally having an argument with the dog over who was going to get the last uneaten bite of the hamburger I had at dinner.
1 pt -- discretionary point taken off for bad attitude.
note: discretionary bad attitude points will be deducted daily and will range from 1 to 5.

My girlfriend send me an email asking if I was aware of the Final Cut Pro deals Apple is offering to Adobe Premiere users (now that Adobe has announced that it will no longer be offering Premiere for the Mac platform).
This was my response:
Apple and Adobe seemed to have declared war on each other a little. Adobe is pissed about FInal Cut Pro and Apple's other apps esp their Pro applications and Adobe just announced that they are no longer going to make Premiere for the Mac OS. That is pretty big news. I personally think Apple is slowly losing these pissing contests because even if they win they lose.
Would you take the Mac OS seriously if all of the commercial apps came directly from Apple? It would seem more like a gimmick than an OS. Now Apple makes all of the bundled consumer apps, several of the bigtime pro apps, a browser, mail client, and soon the productivity suite.
I guess UNIX apps are the counter but still it makes me think Apple is a little crazy. In their defense I don't know if I could hold off on doing something that I knew would be good for the platform while every other developer continually fucked it up over and over again. Apple's inclusion of fax software in the next version of OS X is an example of this I think. There have been nothing but crap fax software available for the Mac since OS 7.x... how much of a head start to other developers need/how long until they get it right?
