OK, as promised, here it is, The Super Atlantic Ave. Starbucks Trivial Pursuit Challenge.
I was at Starbucks on Atlantic Ave. in Boston, MA yesterday when three of the employees started asking and attempting to answer Trivial Pursuit questions back and forth (very loudy).
This is a short quiz... just 5 questions 4 questions (I can't remember one of the questions). Read through them, come up with your answers, and then take a look at how the Starbuck's employees answered each. I'm going to provide sort of a composite answer for the Starbuck's people. Think of this as a competition between you and the group of them together, as if they were all a single competitor.
I'll provide the answer, the Starbuck's employees' answer(s), right or wrong, and some of the thought process that I witnessed as the team at Starbucks worked through their answers. Also, I'm going to provide a little explanation as to why you absolutely cannot miss some of these questions (a couple are basic trivia but the majority are just about using your brain).
By the way... this isn't mean because...
1. These are all 'hip-kid types'. Consider this a celebration of the fact that very stupid people can still feel very good about themselves, and superior to others.
2. All three of the employees participating would describe themselves as smart (and yes I know this is true, and no I don't want to argue this point).
3. They were playing their game very loudy. In fact I missed most of the early questions trying to avoid listening. After I decided that I couldn't escape it, I started writing down this stuff.
Just a couple of more important bits of information to get out of the way.
1. I am paraphrasing these questions (I was writing them down as they were being read aloud).
2. I'm 95% certain that this was the 1990s Edition of Trivial Pursuit.
Without further ado...
Let's play...
The Super Atlantic Ave. Starbucks Trivial Pursuit Challenge
Question #1:
How many imported beers made the list of the top selling beers in America in 1990?
Special Note: This is the question that started it all. This was 'The Question of the Day'. It was written on a chalkboard at the register for all of the patrons to see. No one was able to correctly answer the question.
Question #2:
What muscle is physically larger on average in professional bicycle riders than any other group of people?
Question #3:
What singer made 33 movies from the 1950s to the 1970s?
Question #4:
What M&M color was discontinued in the 1970s?
Special note: This question was determined to be impossible by all three Starbucks employees.
