Today is the last flight of the The Concorde Jet. Why do I care? I don't know. I have a lot of respect for things like this. While people often disappoint, machines rarely do.
There are some pictures here
and a lot more here.
$9,000.00 a flight;
x2 the speed of sound;
ugly;
and all so that a bunch of rich assholes can imagine that they're so important that every second of their life is critically valuable.
Still, this is the end of commercial supersonic travel after 30 years.
At one point the future seemed exciting and new, a challenge to be embraced. Now it seems like a complicated burden; a chore that we can't ever finish. Of course it's both at the same time.
Oh well, RIP Concorde.

Apple is releasing OS X 10.3 aka Panther tonight (some preorders have already been filled) starting at 8 pm with release events at Apple Retail Stores across the country (including 3 stores in MA). The events will run from 8 pm - midnight.
Only 3 hours and about 10 minutes to go.
Rumors are predicting unannounced discounts and I'm sure their will be freebies and who knows what else. I just want a t-shirt. See you there (but if I do don't talk to me. I'm shy).

Walking over the bridge from Charlestown into Boston (toward the Museum of Science/CambridgeSide Galleria. The most common things make the best pictures.
Why no link to the Museum of Science's website? Because it really is an awful place and I don't want to encourage anyone to go there.
Strange... I just tried finding the Museum of Science at CitySearch and it seems to be missing. The Mugar Theater is there but no listing for the Musuem of Science in general. It was there at one point so unless I'm missing something it was pulled for some reason. I had a posted a comment there at one point. I guess it's gone forever.
More on why you should avoid the Museum of Science later. If you'd like that post sooner rather than later vote for it in my post queue.
