Misc. I've recovered from my stomach flu after a day of utter misery, and two more of abject hunger coupled with an inability to eat anything. I am so well that I am currently drinking a beer - something I simply could not fathom wanting to do on Sunday. Anyway, it's good thing that my delightful virus was of the 48-hour variety. I'm in the very end phase of writing the "final first draft" of my undergrad philosophy thesis. My life has been reduced to reading, writing, listening to records, and running around the neighborhood with my dog. No TV, no socialization, no leisure reading, until I am finished with this project. I am almost there, but "almost there" involves a seemingly endless stream of minutia, last-minute fact-checking, rewriting, and of course the inevitable questioning of the entire project. I bought a bunch of new CDs to assuage the pain of sitting in this chair, in front of this computer, for 10-14 hours a day - Explosions in the Sky, some old Brian Eno, The Strokes, OutKast, Robert Wyatt, etc. Lots of good stuff, lots of of-the-moment fun stuff (OutKast). Anyway, I may not post more until after the Thanksgiving holidays, but here's a link to the fotolog of my mom's 60th birthday party. Enjoy. 8:02:06 PM |
