The latest GNOME summary includes a note from Sun that they've finally written a Swing PLAF that looks like Gtk+, to be included in Java 1.5. [Hack the Planet]

Sounds tres cool!  We still have to work with the layout managers from hell, but the look and feel is getting better and better.  I also like the idea that the GTK+ emulation will be themeable, just like the real thing!

IBM Brings Domino and WebSphere Closer Together. IBM's Lotus Software division will unveil two initiatives at its Lotusphere conference next week that enable developers to embed Domino components as Web services in other applications. [Technology News from eWEEK and Ziff Davis]

Cross-over tools for Domino and J2EE developers.  Sounds pretty cool to me.  I've always been pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use the Domino classes.  I am curious about creating web services out of collaborative Domino applications.  Could this be a migration path (or perhaps more appropriately) an integration path for Domino shops?
