Time Union: "Saboteurs have attacked about 20 oil pipelines in southern Iraq, reducing exports from the key oil producing region by at least one third, a top oil official said Thursday."
It is clear that Bush is not able to bring safety and security to Iraq. He isn't even able to secure the oil fields and pipelines. As a result oil prices remain high, which is bad for the stock exchange.
His practice of torture (pdf files via ICH) is sufficiently known by now, which makes him a despicable destructive tyrant, unable to build up anything positive.

Democracy Now: "Will the mass protests at the Republican convention help or hurt President Bush and the Republicans? We host a debate between author and scholar Todd Gitlin and independent journalist Naomi Klein."
John Pilger: "The real debate is the subjugation of national economies to a system dividing humanity as never before and sustaining the deaths, every day, of 24,000 hungry people. The real debate is the subversion of political language and of debate itself and perhaps, in the end, our self respect."
Forget about self respect, what is at stake here is the moral and legal backing of our civilization.

NY Times: "The ranks of the poor and those without health insurance grew in 2003 for the third straight year, the government reported on Thursday, in a sign of the lingering pain being caused by a long slump in the job markets."
More.
