OneWorld: "A team of international observers who are monitoring the November 2 elections is calling for major reforms in the U.S. electoral process to promote confidence in that voting system.
Several of the recommended reforms will require legislation, thus making it impracticable for them to be implemented before this year's elections the run-up to which has been marred by accusations and counter-accusations of 'dirty tricks' by both Republicans and Democrats designed to affect voter turnout."
The dirty tricks are only coming from the Republicans and when Bush wins there will be no major reforms, unless they favour the neocons.

CommonDreams: "Lillian Willoughby, a Deptford Quaker who will turn 90 in January, went to jail Wednesday to protest the war in Iraq.
Shortly before noon, Willoughby rose from her wheelchair, gave her husband of 64 years, George, a hug and a kiss, and disappeared into the federal detention center at Seventh and Arch streets here."
Mrs Willoughby has more courage and sense than the president of the United States.
