Empires fall when their really existing and working ideology and ethics are no longer in accordance with their basic tenets, teachings, laws and ideals. They will have to resort increasingly to lies and violence. They will try to rule by accumulating all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands.

Could it be because he and his wealthy Republican friends see huge financial benefits for themselves and their corporate patrons in a compliant court?"
