CapitolHillBlue: "Slowly, but steadily, the Downing Street Memo is getting the public attention it deserves and making the case that President George W. Bush should be removed from office."
CapitalTimes: "Lying presidents need to be impeached. That's what the Republicans in Congress told us only a few years ago. So let's get on with it."
As far as I am concerned, let the laws of the land decide in this case: capital punishment for Bush and indeterminate detention for Blair.
TimesOnLine: "A sharp increase in British and American bombing raids on Iraq in the run-up to war 'to put pressure on the regime' was illegal under international law, according to leaked Foreign Office legal advice."
Why did George go to war?
Tom Paine: "'He was thinking about invading Iraq in 1999,' said author and Houston Chronicle journalist Mickey Herskowitz. 'It was on his mind. He said, 'One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander-in-chief.' And he said, 'My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it.' He went on, 'If I have a chance to invade..., if I had that much capital, I'm not going to waste it. I'm going to get everything passed that I want to get passed and I'm going to have a successful presidency.'"
