M&CNews: "An attorney at the Texas Secretary of State's office has been fired for talking to a reporter about President Bush's adviser Karl Rove's eligibility to vote in the state.
The Washington Post reports that Elizabeth Reyes confirmed Friday she has been fired for answering questions in a Post story that ran Sept. 3.
Reyes was fired Tuesday but Scott Haywood, a spokesman for Texas Secretary of State Roger Williams, wouldn't comment besides saying that Reyes 'was not authorized to speak on behalf of the agency'.
The Post had earlier ran a story about tax deductions on Rove's homes in Washington and Texas.
Although the Roves were eligible for a tax break in 2001 when they bought the Washington property, a 2002 change to the tax law made them ineligible. They received the break inadvertently, the Post said."
