BBC News: "More than 22,000 elderly people in nursing homes are being given powerful sedatives for no medical reason."
The situation in Holland can't be much different. Due to budget cuts by our present government the time allotted to each person in Dutch nursing homes will be reduced from 50 minutes a day to 40 minutes. That includes washing mornings and evenings, meals, etc. (we all know that many elderly are incontinent). It's a crying shame.
You'll understand why I preferred to take my mother in in my own house and take care of her as long as I can.
