BBC: "Police say they have found fragments of an explosive device after a blast outside the UK consulate in New York."
1. Within minutes emergency services rushed to the area.
2. A spokesman for the New York Police Department said a device was detonated in one of the cement flower boxes used as a barrier outside the building.
That was quick and where was the surveillance before the blast? Which seems to suggest that this is a last effort to boost support for Blair; a present from his friend Dubya?

Spiegel: Nobel Prize laureate Günter Grass has spoken harsh words in the debate about modern capitalism. He said the influence of the industry lobbyists in the German Parliament is a danger to democracy.
Members of Parliament are no longer free in their decisions. He considers the increasing influence of industry lobbyists on politics to be more dangerous for democracy than right-wing radicalism.
'Parliament is subordinated to the powerful industry conglomerates, the banks and corporations, who operate without democratic control. Parliament is turned into a subsidiary of the Stock Exchange. This again creates a society of classes.'
As we live in a global economy, this holds true for the whole of Europe and the whole world.
