Another Victory for Digital Freedom: DVD Jon walks free

DVD Jon is free at last. Jon Lech Johansen was acquitted of all charges. Jon is the teenager who developed the the DeCSS DVD decryption utility and drove the MPAA mental. This says it all. MPAA of course brought legal slander against him on grounds that the software he developed makes the job of scrupulous and greedy pirates (which means ordinary people inclusing me, you and theoretically all the people watching movies at their computer) easier. It's Norwegian court's honour that they were not influenced and manipulated by the big boys and went for the facts. By looking at the facts and having an eye for the continuation of digital freedom, the judges dismissed the case that allowed Jon to walk as a free man. Hoorah!!!
