I liken most of the preparatory activities of website development
to sharpening a shovel or chisel. Limited productive work is being
accomplished - one is just preparing the tools.
Learning now about using the built in FTP and publishing features found
in Front Page 2000 and Dreamweaver MX. Normally, I use, and enjoy the
FTP power and functionality of the software Cute FTP.

Busy with household chores: cleaning the garage and
study room, boxing up and moving unused seasonal
items, rearranging the garage and outdoor shed, picking
up downed tree and shrub branches and limbs, cleaning
up the yards, pruning some shrubs and trees, etc..
A very clear day today. The massive mountains that sourround
our home on three sides (7,000 - 10,000 foot peaks and ridges)
are covered with snow. Crater Mountain, north of Mt. Lassen,
provides a very impressive display snow on a massive 9,000 foot
rocky volcano. Breathtaking views of the great coastal ranges,
southern Cascades, and, of course, Mt. Shasta, 100 miles north,
with heavy snow down to 3,000 fett. Take a deep breath,
smile, and enjoy the fine day.
