Plenty of news over the weekend. This to me seemed as significant as any, maybe more.
Chess (playing chess well) as come to symbolis man's genius, even come to signify mans difference - exceptionalism over nature and techne. I wouldn't go that far and I wouldn't all our eggs in one basket. Kasparov played deep jr. to a draw, frankly I thought it was going to wax him. And I didn't want to have to turn the keys to the planet over to some chess playing linux cluster. Plenty of time for that later.
