As the holidays approach, I figured I'd make something of the time off and educate myself a bit. Arriving Saturday from Amazon:
"Essential .NET, Volume I: The Common Language Runtime" Don Box; Paperback; @ $34.99 each
"Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture" Martin Fowler, et al; Hardcover; @ $49.99 each
"Advanced .NET Remoting" Ingo Rammer; Paperback; @ $34.97 each
I've heard good things about these books and always find Box to be entertaining and Fowler to be very practical and insightful (not to say that Box isn't insightful as well ;-) ). Ingo seems to have a better grasp on remoting than half the folks at MS (even answered a question for me a while back about why you can't dynamically set a default proxy for a contextbound object...too bad...it would have been great for runtime AOP). I definately look forward to these books.
I also am bringing in the new year with my own Radio Weblog (this Radio tool is pretty awesome....very pleased so far...nice and cheap too for what you get).
