"The ASP.NET team is working hard on the 2.0 features right now. But, don't expect any public bits released for quite some time - *at least* 4 months or more would be my guess. I'm sure more information (and featured rumors too) will be leaked as we get closer to the summer.
Let me also clarify Rob's statement on the 70% less code. One of the teams *goals* is to reduce the code needed in v2.0 by 70% over v1.0. Rob did not promise or gaurantee that they would hit that goal.
Is this a lofty Goal? Yes!!
Will they be able to achieve it? Only time will tell. However, this isn't the first lofty goal they've set for themsleves and they have a track record of delivering - their achievements in v1.0 is proof of that.
Personally, I think a 25% - 35% code reduction would be awesome!
