Brain Explorer
Keeping the brain theme into the New Year, I once attended a 'get to know each other meeting' of faculty and new students. The facilitator went around to each person and after asking them to describe who they were, they then were asked to describe their ideal vacation. Many chose some exotic remote place to visit or an interesting city. My response was to 'spend a week in the right side of my brain.'
Well, a new site from the Lundbeck Institute called the Brain Explorer can pave the way for just such a vacation. Although I don't think I could spend a week there, the site offers some basic descriptions, nice graphics and an interesting approach to looking at the brain. It offers an atlas, information about disorders and some general basic information. I just wish it was more comprehensive and more interactive.
