This appears to be a step backwards in the intent of the iPod and its use. If I wanted to listen to the current crop of commercial that's why there is a radio in my car. Given the state of commercial radio these days, is what's driving the sale of iPods. Please Apple and the rest of you third party developers, don't degrade the iPod by adding such unnecessary items.
Griffin Technology Inc.'s iTrip is a tiny FM transmitter that rests atop the iPod. It enables iPod users to use their car's radio or any other radio as an output device for their iPod. Now the company is offering the free iTrip Station Finder to simply the process of finding clear frequencies to tune in to. [MacCentral]
