SweetCocoa on Tuesday announced the release of LapCop 2, a new version of its stealth software application for Mac OS X. LapCop 2 is designed to provide a measure of security for users in the event their Macs are stolen. And despite the name, it'll work on desktop Macs as well as PowerBooks and iBooks. The software sends an "electronic beacon" to your e-mail address containing the Internet route it's connecting from, along with network settings -- enough data to track your Mac geographically, according to the developers.
