USA Today reports that Apple's new iPod mini is "a smash hit." Retailers are having trouble keeping the devices in stock, according to the report. When Apple announced the devices were shipping in February, the company said they already had 100,000 iPods on pre-order. [MacCentral]

Ok so now I need that laptop.
German developer nova media announced on Friday that Mobile High Speed 3.23 is now available. The software enables your Mac to use a cell phone network using the GRPS or GSM protocols. The update adds support for the Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) protocol, as well as the Nokia 6620, Motorola T725E and Sony Ericsson GC82 PC Card Modem. [MacCentral]

SH from Denmark sent this status bar he saw while installing Microsoft Encarta 2004. Above the status bar reads this text:
Please note that the progress bar may reach the end before all files have been copied. Please be patient. In other words, "Our status bar doesn't work right. So please don't pay any attention to it."
This isn't some two-bit shareware program with a broken status bar, this is one of Microsoft's most popular software applications. And the text shows that Microsoft already knows about the error. [This Is Broken]
