What Symantec Knew But Didn't Say. Security experts are fuming about a Symantec press release indicating the company knew about the devastating Slammer worm hours before the general public did. Microsoft patch can lock some users out of Web sites. Although the patch caused problems for some Web users trying to access sites needing authentication, Microsoft said it did fix security vulnerabilities in the Internet Explorer browser.
