It's Friday

"In this era of extreme pursuits, when hang-gliding grannies and snowboarding toddlers are old hat, I'd like to make a case for soft adventure. Tackling something like the Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run before you've, say, hiked the Appalachian Trail through Virginia's Shenandoah Valley - or better yet, scaled Elephant Back Mountain in Yellowstone - seems to me like getting married on your first date."
